Thanks to the Cassa Forense, members can now take advantage of a free basic health policy and, moreover, extend it to the family unit or join a supplementary plan. The free basic health insurance policy for lawyers
The Cassa Forense, attentive to the well-being of lawyers, has decided to renew the basic health protection policies for all members for the second consecutive year. The basic policy is free and offers automatic coverage for lawyers, trainees and pensioners registered with the Fund.
Among the guaranteed services, there are major surgical interventions, serious morbid events, the guarantee for oncological disease, an annual check-up and four high diagnostic services.
The basic policy therefore represents a valid instrument for guaranteeing basic health protection for lawyers.
Extension of the basic health insurance policy to the family unit
For lawyers who wish to offer health coverage also to their cohabiting family members under the age of 80, it is possible to extend the basic health policy by paying an annual premium that varies according to the age of the family members.
Specifically, the cost, to be paid by the member, is as follows:
- • €199.00 up to 40 years of age;
- • €348.25 from 41 to 60 years of age;
- • €497.50 from 61 to 70 years of age;
- • €597.00 from 71 years of age to 80 years of age.
The Supplementary Health Plan
In addition to the basic health policy, lawyers can also opt for a Supplementary Health Plan, which offers broader coverage for health services not included in the basic policy. The supplementary plan covers, for example, hospitalization with or without surgery, day hospital, outpatient surgery, advanced diagnostic services, specialist visits and diagnostic tests.
Members interested in subscribing to the Supplementary Health Plan must pay an annual premium that varies according to age group.
The amount of the annual premium, depending on the age group, is as follows:
€633.60 up to 40 years of age;
€950.40 from 41 years of age to 60 years of age;
€1,485.00 from 61 to 70 years of age;
€1,980.00 from 71 to 80 years of age
How to join and deadlines
Lawyers who wish to extend the basic health policy to the family unit or join the Supplementary Health Plan must follow the online procedure on the Cassa Forense website by 31 May 2023. Payment of the premium can be made by credit card or bank transfer.
