Happiness is a widely-held concept. Many wish to be happy, and even more wish to make others happy. People want to find happiness- and many pursue it in different ways. Most want to find happiness by acquiring possessions or finding love. Others try to avoid unhappiness by identifying and removing the sources of their discontent. Ultimately, everyone wants to be happy.

To be happy, everyone needs security, self-love and belonging. People want to feel safe without fear of losing what they have. In addition to that, they want to feel loved by others without being micromanaged by them. Lastly, they want to feel like they belong somewhere; thus, they want a sense of belongingness. All these qualities help people find happiness.

It can be difficult to find happiness on your own; you need to think about and act on your happiness. You can find happiness by choosing positive thoughts and actions. This is because positive thoughts lead to positive actions, which lead to happiness. Conversely, negative thoughts lead to negative actions, which lead to suffering. You can also find happiness by loving yourself; doing so prevents you from harming yourself with toxic love. Doing so also makes it easier for you to perform self-care actions such as eating well and getting enough sleep.

Finding happiness is an ongoing journey that requires work and effort. People need security, self-confidence, love and belongingness to find happiness on their own. However, it's easy to make someone else happier through positive thinking and action when you know how to be happy yourself. Simply focus on loving yourself and taking care of your mental health first before worrying about making others happy.
